Life. Is. Constant. Do you feel that too? And whilst we love to make our houses look epic – inside and out, we really care about thriving in our home life too.
If you feel the relentlessness of life, here are five things you can do to help make your week go smoothly:
- Reflect, reassess and re-prioritise before Monday morning
Every Sunday take time out to ask yourself, what worked well, what didn’t and what could you tweak to help you move a step closer to the life you want to live.
- Plan the week ahead
Sit down with a calendar and schedule in everything. Every appointment, meeting and to-do. List any life-admin goals, things to buy, things to sort and remember and ways you’re going to fill your tank.
- Meal prep
Write out a weekly menu (do a monthly one if you’re feeling extra) so you know what you need to buy before 5pm that evening when the allure of the golden arches is strong. Bulk prep your lunches for the week – grill chicken, cook quinoa, stir-fry vegetables and create five lunchboxes you can grab without thought or fuss.
- Batch your cleaning
List everything that you do to keep on top of your house. Work out how you could split that into 20/30minute chunks a day, rather than a huge chunk of time at the weekend. For example:
-MON: Upstairs hoovering and dusting
-TUE: Bathrooms
-WED: Kitchen/utility
-THUR: Downstairs hoovering and dusting
-FRI: 20 min freshen up
- Reset every evening ready for the next day
Tidy up, plump cushions, put away clothes, clean the kitchen, set the dishwasher, prep your workout clothes, your outfit for the next day, pack your bag. Do everything your morning self will want to high five you for.
